ONE DAY, after a radio news story that indicated 'one in four children will develop respiratory ailments due to Toronto's level of pollution', I leaned over to Lois & said "let's move".
We were ready to depart Toronto, but we wanted to extract ourselves from more than urbanity.
The suburbs would be a pale substitute & moving to the country would turn me into a commuting road zombie, having to travel further to accommodate the demands of a thriving Toronto-centric business.
Antigua became our choice. Lois is an expatriate, which should smooth the way & save $$. Moving here has been a lot of work; with more challenges than an Antiguan road has potholes. Yet, i arrived on Saturday August 19th; with only a bag of clothes & — of course — my computer workstation & camera. The rest of our belongings arrive in late September, 2006.
Lois, Ché, Willow & Irma (mother-in-law) joined me in mid-October.
These pages chronicle our family adventure. i invite you to drop by & visit us in Antigua through these writings & photos, from the comfort of your computer. Its an exciting learning experience that simply, must be shared.
Who knows, this diary just might be the device that has us picking you up at the Antiguan airport to visit — in person..
